Shamara McKenzie graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice.
Her journey led her to various roles until she found herself at Mega Radio Stations HOT97 and WBLS. Working from the ground up in 2017, she climbed the ranks to become the Promotion Director, overseeing major events like HOT 97 Summer Jam and WBLS Circle of Sisters, where she held the title until 2024.
Originally from Jamaica, W.I,. Shamara migrated to the United States in May 2001, settling in Neptune, New Jersey, where she attended Elementary through High School.
Her passion for education and community empowerment drove her to create Mara Entertainment, recognizing the need for accessible resources to guide others toward success.
